Many students secure a place to study at Bangor University through Clearing every year. Here are some of our students' experiences of going through the Clearing process and choosing Bangor as their place to study.

[Visual Description] A view of a laptop screen showing information about the Clearing process. A hand appears in frame, scrolling carefully through the page.
[0:10] Therefore started to look at other universities and that's how I ended up at Bangor through Clearing.
[Visual Description] A Clearing helpline advisor speaking on the phone with a prospective student on results day. Clearing posters fill the background.
[Visual Description] A student holding a red sign reading “Hall Tours 3 Teithiau Neuaddau” in front of a bus on an Open Day, welcoming visitors with a smile.
[0:15] After results day I came up to Bangor for an Open Day and whilst looking around the accommodation

[0:19] I was quite impressed and the fact that the accommodation is guaranteed.
[Visual Description] Three students walking along a path in Ffriddoedd; two others sit chatting on a nearby bench.
[0:24] This took the stress away from the Clearing process.
[Visual Description] Dafydd returns to the frame – the white background and grey jumper remain unchanged.
[0:27] Whilst looking around the University I was quite impressed with the laboratories and the research vessel at Menai Bridge.
[Visual Description] A student with bright pink hair, wearing a lab coat, looking into a microscope in one of the university’s modern laboratories.
[Visual Description] Aerial view of the research vessel on the shores of the Menai Strait, with the village of Menai Bridge in the background.

[Visual Description] Water rushes over rocks in the open air of Eryri (Snowdonia) – a breathtaking natural scene.
[0:48] So my favourite things about Bangor is being in the outdoors, especially being this close to the mountains of Eryri and the beaches of Ynys Mon.

[Visual Description] Two students fist-bump while taking part in an indoor climbing activity.

[0:21] I knew I definitely wanted to study law with Italian,

[1:10] [VISUAL DESCRIPTION] Victoria is sat on a plush yellow sofa with decorative pillows and art work behind her.
[1:10] It's so nice to be in nature as opposed to in a big city, which can be very intimidating
[1:17] For your first time away from home.
[1:19] You have a very supportive community around you. The teachers are super supportive.
[1:19] [VISUAL DESCRIPTION] Three students sat on a brown leather sofa in a local café looking and laughing at a smartphone.
[1:23] You make amazing friends through the societies.
[1:25] [VISUAL DESCRIPTION] Four students sat out on the terrace near the Main University Building overlooking Bangor.

[1:30] so you always can make friends so easily and you always have a great time.
[1:34] [VISUAL DESCRIPTION] Victoria is sat on a plush yellow sofa with decorative pillows and art work behind her.
[1:34] I have joined quite a few societies in my time at Bangor, including dance, athletics, trampolining,

[1:47] [VISUAL DESCRIPTION] Victoria is sat on a plush yellow sofa with decorative pillows and art work behind her.
[1:47] Bangor was definitely the right choice for me.
[1:50] Everything happens for a reason and obviously I didn't get into my first choice of university
[1:56] but I don't regret my choice at all. I feel so happy here and I've had the best time.
[1:58] [VISUAL DESCRIPTION] A group of students sharing pizza and chatting in a local pizzeria.
[2:03] [VISUAL DESCRIPTION] Victoria is sat on a plush yellow sofa with decorative pillows and art work behind her.
[2:03] Anyone awaiting their results and worried about going through clearing should not worry at all.
[2:08] It's something completely out of your hands. You don't know what's going to happen on the day,
[2:10] but I can assure you that should you go through clearing and you call up Bangor,
[2:19] You'll feel so much at ease and so happy.

[0:12] [VISUAL DESCRIPTION] Max sat on a bright green sofa with art work and a shelf in the background.
[0:12] I definitely have heard about clearing, uh, before receiving my results.
[0:17] I heard people talking about it almost like it was a looming threat, but I really don't think it was that bad.
[0:23] [VISUAL DESCRIPTION] A person in a café on their laptop looking at the Bangor University Clearing webpage.
[0:23] When I realised I didn't get the results I wanted, I immediately thought about clearing. I knew what it was, but I didn't know much else.

[0:31] So it was very much an intense hour of googling and researching and trying to figure out what, what I could possibly be doing next.
[0:40] [VISUAL DESCRIPTION] Two students walking down the stairs in Pontio and chatting.
[0:40] When I was phoning Bangor University, the person on the other end of the phone was extremely helpful
[0:44] [VISUAL DESCRIPTION] A shot of the Main Arts Building.
[0:44] by telling me exactly what I needed to do,
[0:48] [VISUAL DESCRIPTION] A member of staff sat on the computer speaking on the Clearing Helpline.
[0:48] because I had no idea where I was going for clearing, and I didn't exactly know the process.

[0:52] And they managed to explain it all to me extremely quickly and help me with my course choosing as well.
[0:56] [VISUAL DESCRIPTION] A group of students in a room having a meeting, sat on tables with their laptops.
[0:56] Bangor University stood out to me because it was

[1:01] very public about how inclusive it was with its students in all aspects of its education
[1:06] [VISUAL DESCRIPTION] Two students walking through the iron gates outside Main Arts, chatting.
[1:08] and compared to other places I'd been looking at, they seemed very cut off and very separated from the student population,
[1:11] [VISUAL DESCRIPTION] A student standing in the Student Union reception area, speaking to a member of the Student Union Staff.
[1:14] and it was quite refreshing to see somebody that was willing to hear the voice
[1:17] [VISUAL DESCRIPTION] Max sat on a bright green sofa with art work and a shelf in the background.
[1:18] And I was very eager to talk.
