Module UXC-2402:
Hanes y Cyfryngau

History of the Media 2025-26
UXC-2402
2025-26
School of Arts, Culture And Language
Module - Semester 1
20 credits
Module Organiser: Dyfrig Jones
Overview

Bydd y modiwl hwn yn rhoi trosolwg i fyfyrwyr o ddatblygiad hanesyddol y cyfryngau o'r cyfnod modern cynnar hyd heddiw, ond gyda phwyslais pennaf ar hanes yr 20fed ganrif. Bydd myfyrwyr yn archwilio’r berthynas rhwng newid cymdeithasol a thechnolegau cyfathrebu, a gofynnir iddynt ddadansoddi testunau cyfryngol unigol yn eu cyd-destunau diwylliannol, gwleidyddol, cymdeithasol ac economaidd ehangach. Rhoddir pwyslais arbennig ar ddeall y ffordd y mae cynulleidfaoedd, cynhyrchwyr, llunwyr polisi a chymdeithas sifil wedi dylanwadu ar ffurfio a datblygiad cynnar sefydliadau cyfryngau allweddol. Bydd y modiwl hefyd yn edrych ar ddatblygiad astudiaethau’r cyfryngau fel disgyblaeth academaidd, yn ogystal ag ymddangosiad hanes y cyfryngau – a’i hanesyddiaeth gysylltiedig – fel cangen benodol o fewn y ddisgyblaeth.

Assessment Strategy

Bydd y modiwl yn cael ei asesu gan ddau ddarn o waith. Y cyntaf fydd dadansoddi arteffact neu arteffactau cyfryngol hanesyddol gan dynnu ar fframweithiau cysyniadol a damcaniaethol a drafodwyd yn y modiwl. Bydd yr asesiad hwn ar ffurf cyflwyniad unigol 20 munud.

Bydd yr ail aseiniad yn draethawd, episod podlediad neu draethawd fideo lle gofynnir i fyfyrwyr ymateb i un o nifer o gwestiynau a osodir gan arweinydd y modiwl.

Trothwy - D: •Gwybodaeth am brif feysydd / egwyddorion yn unig •Gwendidau o ran dealltwriaeth o brif feysydd •Tystiolaeth gyfyngedig o astudio cefndirol •Nid yw’r ateb yn canolbwyntio’n ddigonol ar y cwestiwn ac mae peth deunydd amherthnasol a strwythur gwael •Cyflwynir y dadleuon ond nid ydynt yn gydlynol •Nifer o wallau ffeithiol / cyfrifiadurol •Dim dehongli gwreiddiol •Disgrifir dim ond y prif gysylltiadau rhwng testunau •Peth datrys problemau •Nifer fawr o wendidau mewn cyflwyno a chywirdeb

Da - C/B: •Gwybodaeth am feysydd/egwyddorion allweddol •Yn deall y prif feysydd •Tystiolaeth gyfyngedig o astudio cefndirol •Ateb yn canolbwyntio ar y cwestiwn ond hefyd mae peth deunydd amherthnasol a gwendidau yn y fframwaith •Cyflwynir y dadleuon ond nid ydynt yn gydlynol •Nifer o wallau ffeithiol/ cyfrifiadurol •Dim dehongli gwreiddiol •Disgrifir dim ond y prif gysylltiadau rhwng testunau •Peth datrys problemau •Rhywfaint o wendid o ran cyflwyniad a chywirdeb

•Gwybodaeth gref •Deall y rhan fwyaf ond nid y cyfan •Tystiolaeth o astudio cefndirol •Ateb pwrpasol gyda strwythur da •Dadleuon wedi’u cyflwyno’n gydlynol •Dim gwallau ffeithiol / cyfrifiadurol ar y cyfan •Rhywfaint o ddehongliad gwreiddiol cyfyngedig •Disgrifir cysylltiadau adnabyddus rhwng testunau •Ymdrinnir â phroblemau drwy ddulliau presennol •Cyflwyniad da, gyda chyfathrebu cywir

Ardderchog - A: •Gwybodaeth gynhwysfawr •Dealltwriaeth fanwl •Astudio cefndirol helaeth •Ateb â chanolbwynt clir iawn, ac wedi’i strwythuro’n dda •Dadleuon wedi eu cyflwyno a’u hamddiffyn yn rhesymegol •Dim gwallau ffeithiol / cyfrifiadurol •Dehongliad gwreiddiol •Datblygu cysylltiadau newydd rhwng testunau •Dull newydd o ymdrin â phroblem •Cyflwyniad rhagorol gyda chyfathrebu cywir iawn

Learning Outcomes

  • Cymhwyso dealltwriaeth o ddigwyddiadau hanesyddol i ddadansoddi testunau cyfryngol

  • Eglurwch sut mae grymoedd hanesyddol wedi siapio sefydlu a datblygiad sefydliadau cyfryngol

  • Nodi datblygiadau allweddol yn hanes astudiaethau'r cyfryngau fel disgyblaeth academaidd

  • Trafodwch y ffyrdd y mae digwyddiadau hanesyddol yn cael eu cynrychioli mewn amrywiaeth o gyfryngau
