Cumberland Lodge Scholarships

Cumberland Lodge Scholarships offer a unique opportunity for students from any discipline to develop skills in communication, public engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Six scholarships are available each year. Applications are now invited for a September 2016 start.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate a commitment to working for ‘the betterment of society’ through their academic research and / or other activities. The charity is currently focusing its work around ethical challenges in health, policing and social cohesion, but applications are welcome from any academic discipline.

Scholars are required to commit to six days plus two evening engagements per year, in addition to reading and preparation time.

Applicants must have the support of their university and be able to commit to a two year programme – so they are likely to be first or second year doctoral students.
