Key Dates in the University Application Cycle

If your son or daughter wants to go to university, they must send an application to UCAS, the organisation that processes applications to study full-time courses at universities and colleges in the UK. Here are the Key Dates in the application cycle:

15 October 2019

Deadline for UCAS Applications to Oxford or Cambridge and for Medicine, Veterinary Science or Dentistry courses

15 January 2020 Deadline for applications for other courses (apart from some Art and Design courses).
Deadline for applications for Bangor Entrance Scholarships

February – April 2020

UCAS Applicant Days at Bangor – an opportunity to visit the University and see various facilities and accommodation

25 February 2020

UCAS Extra opens - the opportunity for your son or daughter to look for another course if they have received no offers or declined those they received

5 May 2020 Decision time! If your son or daughter received all decisions by 31 March, reply by 5 May
4 June 2020 Decision time! If your son or daughter received all decisions by 6 May, reply by 4 June

18 June 2020

Decision time! If your son or daughter received all decisions by 4 June, reply by 18 June

30 June 2020 All applications received after 30 June are entered into Clearing
5 July 2020 Last date to apply in Extra for 2020 entry
6 July 2020 Clearing opens
6 July 2020 International Baccalaureate results published
20 July 2020 Decision time! If your son or daughter received all decisions by 13 July, reply by 20 July

4 August 2020

Scottish Qualifications Authority results are published

13 August 2020 A Level and Advanced Diploma results are published, Clearing starts
21 September 2020 Final date for 2020 entry applications

20 October 2020

Final Clearing deadline
