Key Dates in the University Application Cycle
If your son or daughter wants to go to university, they must send an application to UCAS, the organisation that processes applications to study full-time courses at universities and colleges in the UK. Here are the Key Dates in the application cycle:
Summer 2018 |
Apply, UCAS’ undergraduate application system becomes available for courses starting in autumn 2019 |
Mid-Sept 2018 |
Applications can be submitted to UCAS |
15 October 2018 |
Deadline for UCAS Applications to Oxford or Cambridge and for Medicine, Veterinary Science or Dentistry courses |
15 January 2019 |
Deadline for applications for other courses (apart from some Art and Design courses). |
February – April 2019 |
UCAS Applicant Days at Bangor – an opportunity to visit the University and see various facilities and accommodation |
25 February 2019 |
UCAS Extra opens - the opportunity for your son or daughter to look for another course if they have received no offers or declined those they received |
24 March 2019 |
Deadline for applications for some Art and Design courses |
Early August 2019 |
Scottish Qualifications Authority results are published |
15 August 2019 |
A Level and Advanced Diploma results are published, Clearing starts |
