Bridging Degree

Who is this course for?

This one-year programme prepares for entry onto Masters degrees at Bangor Law School.

This one year programme is specially designed for international candidates who do not have a bachelor degree, but who have a qualification equivalent to a UK Diploma of Higher Education. This qualification is of e level equivalent to having successfully passed the second year of a three-year UK bachelor degree.

A bachelor degree from a recognised institution is required for entry onto a Masters degree at Bangor Law School.

The programme is suitable for students who have completed one of the following qualifications:

  • 3-year University Diploma (Dazhuan) from China
  • 2-year University Diploma from Malaysia
  • Any other qualification deemed to be of an equivalent standard to having successfully completed the 2nd year at undergraduate level in the UK / UK Diploma of Higher Education

PLUS WE REQUIRE

  • IELTS 6.0 (with no individual score lower than 5.5) or equivalent

Please note the UK HND is not recognised for Bridging Degree entry, however candidates holding this qualification may be considered for entry onto the 2-year LLB degree

Course Details

This is a full-time one-year programme, of final-year bachelor degree level.

Students undertake a programme of study equivalent to the final year of bachelor study combining Law with some English study. Students will undertake a full-time programme valued at 120 credits:

After completing the Bridging Degree, what happens next?

On successful completion of the bridging degree students will be awarded an LLB degree. A lower second-class honours degree or above will secure entry onto a Masters degree at Bangor Law School. A full list of Masters degree courses is available here.

How to Apply?

Candidates should apply for entry to both the Bridging Degree and the Masters degree on ONE Postgraduate Application Form. In section B of the application form, by the title ‘TAUGHT COURSES’, please write ‘Bridging Degree’ AND the name of the Masters degree applied for.

PLEASE NOTE, only one application form should be completed to apply for both programmes.
