Applying for Distance Learning Courses
When we receive your completed forms, we will endeavour to keep you informed as to the status of your application, giving you a decision at the earliest possible opportunity. It is our intention to make the application process as quick and transparent as possible.
If you are seriously considering applying you are encouraged to contact the course director of your chosen programme in advance. Each and every application is judged on its own merits. It is very important that applicants are fully aware of the demands of the course and the realities of distance learning.
Forestry and Tropical Forestry Courses
Entrance onto the forestry courses is annual, with a September start date*. You can apply to study on the courses at any time. However, if you wish to begin your studies in the same year as your application you must submit your application form by the 31st July of that year.
*The first module will commence in late September, however, the courses begin the week prior to the module start date, where you will be required to complete: (1) an online registration; (2) a compulsory ‘Study Skills Test'; and, (3) to spend time familiarising yourself with the online course materials.
Food Security in a Changing Environment Course
The programme has 3 intakes per year, occurring at the end of September, the end of January and the middle of June. Students may begin their study at the beginning of any module.
The first week of each module requires you to familiarise yourself with the online learning environment and carry out some simple tasks to ensure you are able to fully participate in the course.
The application deadline is 4 weeks before start of the module.
