Volunteer as a Peer Guide
Apply online to become a Peer Guide for next year and enhance your CV by helping new students settle into life at Bangor.
Peer Guides volunteer from across all academic schools and are expected to be positive role models. They support new students by making contact prior to arrival, running social events over Arrivals Weekend and Welcome Week, taking students on tours of the campus, and helping out at induction events. Schools organise rotas to lighten the load and training is given to ensure that Peer Guides understand the role and know who to signpost new students to for support.
The Peer Guide experience provides a great opportunity to build on your employability and can lead on to paid roles at open days and other events within the University. BEA points are awarded for attending training and for volunteering as a Peer Guide. The University recognises the Peer Guide role through the award of certificates at an annual ceremony, and through the Peer Guide of the Year Award and the Most Effective Peer Guide Award.
