Property & Campus Services (PACS)

The Director of PACS is responsible for the overall management, design and maintenance of the Universitys estate. PACS shall put into place such arrangements that are necessary to safeguard the safety and well-being of staff, students and visitors to the University and shall ensure that significant hazards and risks associated with the design, maintenance and general management of University premises are suitably assessed and controlled.

Heads of Colleges and Departments are responsible under the Health and Safety Policy to ensure the activities of that College or Department do not detrimentally affect the safety of building occupants and are undertaken safely and have due regard for the design, maintenance and use of the premises. Heads of Colleges and Departments shall ensure that any significant hazard or risk associated with a building or grounds is reported to the PACS and, where appropriate, suitable controls are put in place to prevent the risk being realised.
