Academi is the official student nightclub that hosts popular theme nights through the week.
Pontio is a social hub for students, inside you'll find a cinema and theatre as well as a bar and cafe.

- Over 60 sports ranging from rugby and football to scuba diving and martial arts, and everything in between.

As a University which provides strong support for research activities, Bangor has a number of subject-related specialist resources and facilities including a research vessel, MRI Scanner, climatic chamber, Natural History Museum and Botanic Gardens. The university also offers FIFA and World Rugby certified 3G and grass outdoor pitches, numerous sports halls, gyms, and squash courts. There is a multi-route climbing wall, Athletics track, and much more at Canolfan Brailsford, a state-of-the-art gym located in the heart of Bangor.
As you would expect from a university that places great emphasis on student support, Bangor is keen to offer extra help to students. Bangor University offers a range of bursaries and scholarships to new and returning students.
For new students, these include Merit Scholarships for those who excel in the annual Entrance Scholarships.
For those from the UK (excluding Wales - please see information about Money Support) the Bangor Bursary means you could receive extra financial help over the duration of a three-year course.
You can take an International Experience Year, where you will study or work abroad for 1 additional year, whilst studying most of our undergraduate courses. When you graduate, you will have ‘with International Experience’ added to your degree title.
