Overview
The module is of an applied nature, and it involves a wider knowledge of the tourism industry. The module requires students to design and propose a new service/product/experience solving a real-life problem that a tourism organisation is facing.
The module aims to provide students with the necessary skills in managing tourism businesses and in such roles to take informed decisions on managerial and development strategies. Assessment Strategy
-excellent -A- to A+ (70%+): Outstanding performance. The relevant information accurately deployed. Excellent grasp of theoretical/conceptual/practice elements. Good integration of theory/practice/information in pursuit of the assessed work's objectives. Strong evidence of the use of creative and reflective skills. -good -B- to B+ (60-69%): Most of the relevant information accurately deployed. Good grasp of theoretical/conceptual/practical elements. Good integration of theory/practice/information in pursuit of the assessed work's objectives. Evidence of the use of creative and reflective skills. -satisfying -C- to C+ (50-59%): Much of the relevant information and skills mostly accurately deployed. Adequate grasp of theoretical/conceptual/practical elements. Fair integration of theory/practice/information in the pursuit of the assessed work's objectives. Some evidence of the use of creative and reflective skills. -threshold -D- to D+ (40-49%): No major omissions or inaccuracies in the deployment of information/skills. 20-minute presentation on the application of research methods and data analysis performed to identify the problem and possible solutions. Each student in the group should present for at least 5 minutes. Presentations are marked individually and each member should state in which part and how they contributed. Marks will be awarded according to the following criteria: 40% group overall work 40% individual contribution to the presentation 20% peer-to-peer evaluation based on contribution, cooperation, communication, teamwork, and reliability within the group

30-minute presentation of the product/service/experience proposed as a solution of the problem, following the steps of service design thinking. Each student in the group should present for at least 7 minutes. Presentations are marked individually and each member should state in which part and how they contributed.
