Overview
This module will develop proficiency in communicating science, and also in intersecting science with policy and public engagement. Which enables the effective dissemination of research and conservation strategies to diverse audiences. This involves mastering the ability to articulate complex ecological concepts clearly, enhancing communication with decision-makers, stakeholders, and the broader public.
Writing • Writing style in scientific and technical documents: clarity, concision and precision, from the sentence to the whole document levels. • Diversity of structures in technical and scientific documents • Writing scientific articles: title, abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussion, references, supplementary materials. • Adequate use of tables and figures in technical documents • Adequate citation of literature in scientific and technical documents • Submission to journals: authorship, choice of journal, handling comments by reviewers • Critical assessment of case-study scientific articles and technical reports • Policy briefs, infographics, and media documents

Students must engage in two out of five activities to pass the module, covering tasks such as analysing scientific articles, creating policy briefings, delivering technical talks, and peer reviewing. Individuals and groups will be marked at 70% and 30%, respectively.
