Overview
This module will give you the opportunity to get to understand what you have learned during your time as a student and to discuss that in a way that will help you to apply for and to get a job. It will explain the Bangor Graduate Attributes in depth and show you how you can use them to develop good habits in terms of being more employable. It will also show you how to use this knowledge discuss your achievements and experience when applying and interviewing for jobs. The module will discuss working in a team and dealing with challenges that are relevant to your Bangor degree.
Students will learn about topics such as the following: The research base that supports the Bangor Graduate Attributes together with subject-specific examples and case studies; Techniques to maintain and support those behaviours at university, work and through lifelong education; Creating and maintaining a healthy dynamic in a team and dealing with difficulties in collaborative working; Reflecting on experiences of learning at university to using Bangor Graduate Attributes and the research base that supports them in ways that are relevant to the workplace; Gaining a job and maintaining a successful career across a range of relevant careers to students in Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences such as: research, creative work, social work and childcare, policy, enterprise and business, and law and policing.
Assessment Strategy
Excellent: A- to A* Comprehensive and advanced knowledge making excellent use of research and understanding of: core elements of Bangor Graduate Attributes. Compelling evidence of the application of this knowledge to reflect on their learning and to improve habits that promote their employability in the future. Evidence of clear success in using specific and general subject knowledge and techniques to collaborate and lead to respond to a real-world problem.
Very good: B – to B+ A strong grasp of the core elements of Bangor Graduate Attributes, with well-supported references to research, demonstrating their effective application in reflective learning and the cultivation of employability skills. Clear and compelling evidence of proficiency in subject-specific knowledge and methodologies, alongside successful collaboration in tackling a real-world challenge
Good: C-, C. C+ Good knowledge and understanding (with good reference to research) of: core elements of Bangor Graduate Attributes and clear evidence of their application to reflect on learning and to improve habits that promote their employability in the future. Members of the group will contribute to a plan to answer a question relevant to their subject area. Each group member will have a dedicated section (with a length not less than 1,000 words) that will discuss an aspect of the problem and the response taken.

You will participate in a mock interview for the same job you will have applied for. A "panel" of two members of staff will ask you real-world questions.

As part of the group report, all members of the group will have to show evidence that they have worked together effectively including dealing with problematic aspects of the project. This evidence will be shown through a reflective report (500 words per member of the group).
