Scholarships, Studentships & Bursaries
Scholarships, Studentships and Bursaries are funded by both the University and our individual academic schools. The International Education Centre also supports international students through a range of awards for international students.
Bangor Business School Undergraduate Scholarships (UK only)
A number of scholarships valued at £2,500 are awarded to UK candidates who achieve the highest grades in their A levels (or equivalent) and who’ve already applied and firmly accepted their offer at Bangor Business School. No scholarship application form needs to be completed, as all applicants who’ve selected Bangor Business School as their firm choice via UCAS will automatically be considered for this award.
Successful candidates will be informed of the award within 2 weeks of receiving their exam results.

School Excellence Scholarships 2019
Rewarding Academic Achievement – students who start an undergraduate degree course (BA, BSc, BMus, LLB) in one of the Academic Schools below in September 2019 will be eligible for an MA Scholarship.
- Bangor Business School,
- School of History, Philosophy & Social Sciences
- School of Languages, Literatures & Linguistics
- Bangor Law School
- School of Music & Media
- School of Welsh and Celtic Studies
These scholarships will be available to UK and EU students who:
- have graduated from an undergraduate programme in one of these Schools
- achieved a 1st class degree
- go on to successfully apply and subsequently register for full-time study on a one-year taught Masters (MA, MMus, MSc, & LLM) course based in one of the Schools above.
Students who graduate with a 1st class degree will automatically receive a 50% tuition fee waiver for the Masters course.

As you would expect from a university that places great emphasis on student support, Bangor is keen to offer extra help to students. Bursaries and scholarships worth over £3.4M are available for new and returning students.
For new students in 2019, these include Merit Scholarships of up to £3,000 for those who excel in the annual Entrance Scholarships (The closing date is 15 January 2019 for 2019 entry).

Other Sources of Funding
There are many government and non-government organisations that provide scholarship schemes enabling international students to source funding to study at a UK university. Students should contact the Ministry of Education or Education Department in their country, as they should have details of scholarship opportunities for students wishing to study overseas. They will also be able to advise the government’s conditions for studying abroad. Students should also contact the British Council office in the country of origin, which should have details of British scholarship schemes. If there is no British Council office in the country, then the nearest British Embassy or High Commission should be contacted.
