Driver and Vehicle Safety
UK Department for Transport data shows that around 450–500 people are killed each year in collisions involving someone driving for work, accounting for nearly 30% of all road deaths. This means that driving is in many cases, the most hazardous activity a person will undertake whilst at work.
With this in mind, Health and Safety has developed the following Driver and Vehicle Safety Policy and Information Sheets to help Colleges and Services establish the fundamental principles for managing Driver and Vehicle Safety. The Driver and Passenger Safety Handbook also provides valuable, practical advice to all staff and students who drive on University work related activites.
