Overall aims and purpose

Mae'r modiwl yn ffocysu ar nifer o agweddau gwahanol o hanes cenhedloedd bychan o fewn gwladwriaeth fwy - yn benodol, Sbaen. Mae hanes Gwlad y Basg, Catalwnia a Galisia yn yr ugeinfed ganrif wedi bod yn rhan o hanes ehangach Sbaen, ac yn ffocws diddordeb byd-eang yng nghyd-destun buddugoliaeth Cenedlaetholwyr Ffasgaidd Franco yn Rhyfel Cartref Sbaen a cwymp y gyfundrefn honno yn yr 1970au. Trwy edrych ar hanes gwleidyddol, economaidd a diwylliannol y tri cenedl a'r wladwriaeth ehangach, cawn bortread gyflawn o'u perthynas a'u datblygiad. Bydd y modiwl hefyd yn archwilio’r tensiwn rhwng cenedlaetholdeb y wladwriaeth ehangach, boed yn Ffasgaidd, Gweriniaethol neu’n Frenhiniaeth Gyfansoddiadol, a cenhedloedd llai. Bydd pwysigrwydd iaith, gwleidyddiaeth, chwaraeon a therfysgaeth yn y berthynas hon yn dod i'r amlwg, a bydd ffocws ar gymharu a chyferbynnu Gwlad y Basg, Catalwnia a Galisia. Wrth drafod y cyfnod rhwng troad yr ugeinfed ganrif a dirwasgiad economaidd yr unfed ganrif ar hugain, byddwn yn archwilio newidiadau sylweddol mewn hanes y cenhedloedd bach a'r wladwriaeth ehangach dros gyfnod eang.
