Overall aims and purpose

Mae’r modiwl hwn yn cwblhau’r gorolwg o brif gyfnodau llenyddiaeth y Gymraeg a ddechreuwyd yn Golwg ar Lenyddiaeth 1. Cawn gyfle i astudio enghreifftiau o destunau o ddiwedd yr Oesau Canol hyd ddechrau’r ugeinfed ganrif, gan ystyried eu cyd-destunau hanesyddol a syniadaethol.

Yr oedd y cyfnod a astudir ar y modiwl hwn yn un brofodd chwyldroadau crefyddol, gwyddonol, gwleidyddol a syniadaethol, a bu i lên Cymru ei rhan yn holl ddatblygiadau pwysig y canrifoedd. Nod y modiwl yw caniatáu i’r myfyriwr werthfawrogi’r prif agweddau cysyniadol a thraddodiadol a luniodd ymateb beirdd, dramodwyr, anterliwtwyr, ysgrifwyr a nofelwyr y Gymraeg yng Nghymru a thu hwnt.

Am fod hwn yn fodiwl i fyfyrwyr ail iaith yn benodol, bydd sylw arbennig yn cael ei roi i agweddau o’r iaith lenyddol ac i eirfa berthnasol.

Course content

Bydd y modiwl hwn yn cynnig cyflwyniad i brif themâu a chysyniadau hanesyddol a llenyddol y cyfnod o ddiwedd yr Oesau Canol i ddechrau cyfnod Moderniaeth. Bydd yn ymwneud â’r prif feysydd a ganlyn, gan astudio detholiad o awduron a gweithiau allweddol yn eu cyd-destunau:

  1. Y Diwygiad Protestannaidd; o fyd y llawysgrif i fyd y llyfr print
  2. Y Dadeni a Dyneiddiaeth; dirywiad y traddodiad barddol
  3. Y Diwygiad Methodistaidd
  4. Diwylliant poblogaidd a thorfol y Gymraeg
  5. Yr Ymoleuo a thwf Rhyddfrydiaeth
  6. Rhamantiaeth

(A): Rhagorol Bydd myfyrwyr ardderchog (graddau A) yn arddangos y galluoedd sicr hyn ar draws y meini prawf, yn ogystal â dyfnder arbennig yn eu gwybodaeth a/neu gywreinrwydd eu dadansoddi. Dangosant hefyd wreiddioldeb yn eu gwaith darllen a dehongli. Byddant yn mynegi eu hunain mewn iaith cywir a datblygedig.

  2. Yn medru mynegi barn yn glir ac yn ddealladwy ar lafar am y darnau o lenyddiaeth a’r cyfnodau hanesyddol dan sylw.

  3. Yn deall pwysigrwydd y gweithiau a’r awduron hyn, a’u cyfraniad i ddatblygiad y traddodiad llenyddol Cymraeg.

  4. Yn ymwybodol o brif ddigwyddiadau a chyfnodau hanesyddol yr ystod dan sylw.

  5. Yn medru ystyried y gweithiau llenyddol yn eu cyd-destun hanesyddol a diwylliannol, gan ddangos ymwybyddiaeth o berthynas y llenyddiaeth i rai o brif gysyniadau’r cyfnodau dan sylw.

  6. Yn medru mynegi barn yn glir ac yn ddealladwy yn ysgrifenedig am y darnau o lenyddiaeth a’r cyfnodau hanesyddol dan sylw.

  7. Yn medru deall a defnyddio geirfa berthnasol a gyflwynir yn ystod y modiwl.
