Overall aims and purpose

Bwriad y cwrs craidd hwn yw cyflwyno syniadau rhai o'r ffigurau amlycaf a mwyaf dylanwadol mewn hanesyddiaeth fodern a meithrin dealltwriaeth feirniadol o'r amryfal ffyrdd o ddehongli'r gorffennol. Trafodir gwreiddiau hanesyddiaeth fodern yn y 19eg ganrif, cyn mynd ymlaen i ystyried cyfraniad meddylwyr ac ysgolion neilltuol yn yr ugeinfed ganrif, cyfnod a welodd luosogi damcaniaethau ynghylch hanes a dehongliadau o'r gorffennol.

Gan mai cwrs wedi'i lunio'n benodol ar gyfer myfyrwyr sy'n astudio trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg yw hwn, darperir deunyddiau Cymraeg i gyd fynd â'r darlithoedd a'r seminarau a neulltuir peth amser i drafod dehongliadau modern o hanes Cymru.

Course content

Er y byddir yn rhoi peth sylw i rai o haneswyr mawr y bedwaredd ganrif ar bymtheg – fel Ranke, Macaulay a Marx – bydd pwyslais y cwrs ar hanesyddiaeth yr ugeinfed ganrif. Canolbwyntir gan hynny ar feddylwyr a thueddiadau allweddol ym maes hanesyddiaeth yn ystod y ganrif ddiwethaf gan astudio enghreifftiau penodol o gynnyrch y meddylwyr a’r ysgolion dan sylw. Ymysg y pynciau a astudir bydd Ysgol yr Annales, Hanesyddiaeth Farcsaidd, Hanes Merched, Hanes Llafar, a her syniadaeth ôl-strwythurol ac ôl-fodern. Neulltuir yn ogystal ddwy ddarlith i drafod agweddau ar Hanesyddiaeth Cymru yn y cyfnod diweddar.

Bydd myfyrwyr ardderchog (70au ac uwch) yn dangos y cyflawniad cadarn hwn ar draws y meini prawf yn ogystal â dyfnder gwybodaeth a/neu gywreinrwydd dadansoddiad arbennig o drawiadol.

Bydd myfyrwyr trothwy (40au isel) yn dangos gwybodaeth sylfaenol am o leiaf rannau o'r maes perthnasol, ac yn gwneud ymdrechion rhannol lwyddiannus o leiaf i gyflwyno dadl sy'n ymwybodol o ddehongliadau hanesyddol gwahanol.

Bydd myfyrwyr da (60au) yn gallu dangos lefel gadarn o gyflawniad ym mhob un o'r meini prawf a restrir yn y paragraff blaenorol.

  1. Gwybodaeth am ddatblygiad hanesyddiaeth yng ngorllewin Ewrop, gan gynnwys Cymru, yn y 19eg a'r 20fed ganrif.

  2. Gwybodaeth fanylach o agweddau penodol ar y pwnc hwnnw, wedi'i seilio ar restr o bynciau traethawd gradd.

  3. Meithrin ymwybyddiaeth o ddulliau ac `ysgolion¿ gwahanol o ddehongli'r gorffennol, a'r gallu i wahaniaethu'n feirniadol rhyngddynt.

  4. Meithrin ymwybyddiaeth o sut y dehonglir y gorffennol ar gyfer y cyhoedd, yn arbennig yng Nghymru.

  5. Y gallu i gyflwyno dadleuon clir a threfnus ynglyn ag agweddau penodol ar y pwnc mewn dau draethawd gradd. Dylai'r traethodau ganolbwyntio ar ateb y cwestiynau a osodir, gan seilio'u dadleuon ar dystiolaeth benodol gyda chyfeiriadau llawn a llyfryddiaeth; dylent ddangos ymwybyddiaeth feirniadol o ddehongliadau hanesyddol, a chydymffurfio â'r fformat a amlinellir yng nghanllawiau Ysgol Hanes, Hanes Cymru ac Archaeoleg ar gyfer traethodau gradd.
