Overall aims and purpose

Bydd gan y modiwl hwn ffocws cryf ar gaffael y sgiliau ymarferol sylfaenol sy'n gysylltiedig â gweithgareddau antur diogel, tir-seiliedig. Bydd gweithgaredd ymarferol yn cael ei ychwanegu at sesiynau byr yn yr ystafell ddosbarth a gynlluniwyd i atgyfnerthu'r paratoad a'r dilyniant myfyriol sy'n gyson â datblygu arferion da sy'n gweithio y tu allan. Yr un mor bwysig â sgiliau a gwybodaeth dechnegol, fydd y nodweddion personol cyffredinol o ymwybyddiaeth, barn ac agwedd sy'n caniatáu i unigolion weithredu'n ddiogel mewn grŵp, mewn sefyllfaoedd posib o beryglus. Y prif weithgareddau a wynebir yn ystod y modiwl hwn fydd cerdded mynydd, dringo creigiau dan do, mordwyo môr, crefft gwersyll a sgwrsio ceunant. Efallai y bydd rhai o'r gweithgareddau hyn yn ymestynnol yn gorfforol ac yn emosiynol a bydd angen ymrwymiad amser ac ymdrech arnynt ar ran yr holl gyfranogwyr.

Course content

Sgiliau a addysgir neu a ymarferir: - 1. Llywio gan gynnwys cyfleoedd asesu ffurfiannol trwy deithiau cerdded heb eu heneiddio. Llywio nos. 2. Clwy'r môr o fewn grŵp gallu cymysg (sgiliau grŵp) 3. Sgiliau gwersylla, dewis a chario offer. Coginio. 4. Sgiliau dringo dan do, gan gynnwys symudiad, clogfeini, cribio gwaelod, dringo plwm, ysgubo, abseilio, galwadau dringo, archwiliadau diogelwch partner dringo. 5. Asesu risgiau 6. Trosglwyddo sgiliau o un amgylchedd i'r llall. 7. Deall y tywydd a sut y gellir defnyddio rhagolygon i alluogi gwell defnydd o'r amgylchedd. 8. Gweithdrefnau achub mynydd a brys. 9. Cynllunio llwybrau. 10. Hunan-fyfyrio a gosod targedau.

Resource implications for students

Fydd angen prynnu y canlynol: LAMINATED VERSION of OS Explorer Map (1:25 000) Snowdon Sheet OL17. Make sure it is laminated because it will not survive otherwise and we will be writing on them. Compass ( Silva expedition 4 or similar) Personal warm clothing including hats and gloves. This should be of fleecey type material or wool NOT COTTON. A comprehensive kit list will be found on Blackboard landbased section. Other equipment can be borrowed but people generally look to own their own: Rucksack 45L or bigger Waterproof jacket Waterproof trousers Walking boots with ankle support Headtorch Climbing harness Climbing shoes. We will discuss equipment early on and those with little knowledge in this area would be better waiting for advise rather than buying something unsuitable
