Overview

Gyda chyfarwyddyd, gofynnir i fyfyrwyr ddewis testun eu hunain i'w ymchwilio ymhellach, testun estynedig i'w gyfieithu i'r iaith maent yn arbenigo ynddi neu destun ymchwil cymharol mewn dwy o'r ieithoedd maent yn arbenigo ynddynt. Mewn achos traethawd estynedig uchafswm o 15,000 o eiriau, wedi'i seilio ar ymchwil, bydd disgwyl iddynt fel rheol gynhyrchu darn a ymchwiliwyd yn annibynnol a fydd yn adlewyrchu a phrofi'r wybodaeth a'r sgiliau maent wedi eu meithrin yn ystod y modiwlau hyfforddedig. Gall y testun a ddewisir fod yn benodol i un diwylliant neu ffurf gymharol. Gyda'r dewis cyfieithu estynedig, bydd yn ofynnol i'r myfyriwr gyflwyno cyfieithiad 12,000 o eiriau o destun o'i ddewis (ymgynghorir ar ddewis y testun hwn gyda'r goruchwyliwr perthnasol) ac wedyn esboniad manwl 8,000 o eiriau lle eglurir strategaethau, theorïau a dewisiadau cyfieithu perthnasol.

Mewn achos traethawd estynedig uchafswm o 20,000 o eiriau, wedi'i seilio ar ymchwil, bydd disgwyl iddynt fel rheol gynhyrchu darn a ymchwiliwyd yn annibynnol a fydd yn adlewyrchu a phrofi'r wybodaeth a'r sgiliau maent wedi eu meithrin yn ystod y modiwlau hyfforddedig. Assessment Strategy

-threshold -C- - C+: Crynhoi ysgolheictod perthnasol mewn maes; gallu adnabod y gwrthddadleuon amlycaf; dogfennu'r rhan fwyaf o ffynonellau'n gywir; strwythuro esboniad a dadleuon yn glir; darparu dewisiadau cyfieithu sy'n briodol ac eto sydd wedi'u cyfiawnhau'n llac neu'n ymddangos yn fympwyol.

-good -B- - B+: Gallu defnyddio syniadau gwreiddiol, ond ddim yn edrych ar neu'n cydnabod eu harwyddocâd llawn bob amser; dangos dealltwriaeth feirniadol o'r ysgolheictod perthnasol yn y maes; strwythuro esboniad a dadleuon yn glir; darparu dewisiadau cyfieithu sy'n cyfateb i faterion damcaniaethol/beirniadol perthnasol.

-excellent -A- - A+: Cyflwynir y gwaith i safon a fyddai'n dderbyniol i'w gyhoeddi mewn cyfnodolyn arbenigol priodol; mae'n dangos dealltwriaeth feirniadol o ysgolheictod perthnasol, ac yn rhoi syniadau gwreiddiol yng nghyd-destun yr ysgolheictod hwnnw. Mae'n rhoi dewisiadau cyfieithu gwreiddiol a medrus sy'n rhoi sylw i faterion damcaniaethol / beirniadol.

Learning Outcomes

  • Dadlau achos yn argyhoeddiadol, gan ddangos dyfnder gwybodaeth a dealltwriaeth feirniadol o'r testun a ddewiswyd.

  • Rheoli deunydd ac amser yn effeithiol wrth gynhyrchu darn sylweddol o waith ymchwil annibynnol.

  • Y gallu i roi sgiliau beirniadol, ymchwil a dadansoddol ar waith, a ddatblygwyd yn ystod semester un a dau.
