Overall aims and purpose
You will independently pursue a relevant topic of interest pertaining to patient/client care within their field of practice. This will encompass a critical evaluation of the provision of effective care and its management, the factors which influence the quality and standards of care and the ways in which service improvement can be attained.

- Analyse the importance of respect for individuals and how the dignity of the patient/ client is maintained throughout the process of healthcare delivery.
- Critically analyse relevant literature, research, policy documents, legislation and other relevant information such as patient/client stories and demonstrate their application to the management of care in your field of practice
- Critically analyse current National patient safety and quality policy agendas and demonstrate their relevance and application to the management and implementation of care in your field of practice.
- Demonstrate the application of quality improvement strategies to your field of practice.
- Critically analyse the evidence base utilised during decision making and when delivering care in your field of practice
- Demonstrate the ability to take a reflective and reflexive approach to patient/client care in your field of practice.
