Overview
In the context of Children and Young People's Nursing:
Advanced decision making, teamwork and prioritisation for patient safety for children, young people and their families' in a range of contexts, including major incidents.
Shared decision making with children, young people and their families
Evidence based decision making processes in children's nurses
Decision making theory and its application to diagnostic reasoning and clinical decision making in children's nursing
Critically exploring the importance of clinical context in decision making with reference to service users’ perceptions, beliefs, aspirations, concerns, expectations and views.
Critical exploration of intrinsic and extrinsic factors that may impact on personal clinical decision

Learning Outcomes
- Articulate rationale to support decision making related to nursing children, young people and their families care across the lifespan in a range of contexts.
- Critically debate a range of theories underpinning nursing decision making, related to nursing children, young people and their families
- Critically evaluate the impact of patient safety policy and management of risk in relation to individual‘s care across a range of children and young peoples' settings.
- Identify, select, assess and critically evaluate the nature of informed decisions, risk assessment and hazard avoidance in childrens' nursing.
