Assessment Strategy
-threshold -Students will be required to achieve a minimum of C- grade in the assignment to in order to pass the theory component of the module. Demonstrate a satisfactory understanding of the facts and principles specific to the development and impact of the development of Advanced Practice across all four Pillars of Practice. Basic understanding of the principles that underpin Advanced Practice. Be focused on the assessment brief, describing the major links between topics with some irrelevant material and/or weaknesses in structure evident. There must be an attempt to present relevant and logical arguments. The assignment should not contain a large number of factual errors and there should be an attempt to analyse and/or explain problems. Be free of major weaknesses in presentation and accuracy. -good -Students will be required to achieve a minimum of B- grade in the assignment in order to achieve a B grade for this module. Demonstrate a strong understanding of the facts and principles specific to the development and impact of the development of Advanced Practice across all four Pillars of Practice. A range of coherent arguments that demonstrate understanding of the principles that underpin Advanced Practice. Be focused on the assessment brief, describing the major links between topics with little irrelevant material and/or weaknesses in structure evident. There must be relevant and logical arguments presented with evidence of some original interpretation. The assignment should not contain factual errors and there should be a good analysis of a range of issues evident. Be primarily free of weaknesses in presentation and accuracy. -excellent -Students will be required to achieve a minimum of A- grade in the assignment to in order to achieve an A grade for the module. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the facts and principles specific to the development and impact of the development of Advanced Practice across all four Pillars of Practice. Outline a wide range of well-structured and coherent arguments that demonstrate a deep level of understanding of the principles that underpin Advanced Practice which include significant elements of original interpretation.Be focused on the assessment brief, contain logically presented and defended arguments demonstrating an ability to identify, develop and present new links between topics and be free of irrelevant material and/or weaknesses in structure. There must be a very high standard of relevant and logical arguments presented with original interpretation evident. The assignment should not contain factual errors and there should be in depth analysis of a wide range of issues. Be free of weaknesses in presentation and accuracy.
Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate critical understanding of the principles of clinical reasoning and evidence based practice within the Frameworks of Advanced Practice (including the 4 pillars of Advanced Practice)
- Demonstrate the ability to critically analyse and apply a broad range and depth of theory that underpins the advanced practice role and show understanding of the impact of the role on innovative service development and delivery through developing and modernising working practices
- Explore a comprehensive range of legislation and policy drivers and fully recognise their impact on advanced practice roles
- Explore and critically analyse the principles of governance that guide working within accepted boundaries as well as professional accountability, capability and competence of the advanced practitioner role
- Explore and critically appraise the development of inter-professional working for advanced practitioners and identify and discern the changing role and responsibilities that advanced practitioners may undertake that were previously the domain of other professionals
- Undertake a detailed analysis of the principles of delivery of high quality of care and apply to advanced practice
- Undertake an analytical exploration of the need to respond effectively and flexibly to new models of care in order to enhance service development and delivery within health, social care and the third sector
