Overview
This course may include but is not limited to Pathophysiology Respiratory/ Cardiovascular/Renal/Neurological systems, Haemodynamic monitoring, Fluid Management, Pharmacology, Principles of Ventilation, Respiratory support, tracheostomy, condition specific care, Haemofiltration, Ethical consideration of withdrawal of care/end of life/Organ Donation

Learning Outcomes
- Critically analyse and evaluate the advanced care and management of the critically ill patient and their family in the critical care environment
- Critically analyse and evaluate the provision and application of evidence based practice within the speciality of critical care
- Critically appraise and synthesise the concept of legal and ethical complexities related to critical care
- Critically examine and evaluate the appropriate interventions when caring for a critically ill patient and their family
- Demonstrate a deep and systematic understanding of altered anatomy and physiology

Clinical Competencies Students will be expected to complete Clinical Competencies. These will be the National Competency framework for Adult Critical Care Steps 2 and 3 competencies. The students will be allocated the competencies in sections according to the topics covered in the taught sessions.
