Overall aims and purpose

Mae’r Gyfraith yn Gymraeg yn fodiwl dewisol yn y rhaglen LLB. Nod y modiwl hwn yw cyflwyno sgiliau cyfreithiol sylfaenol yn unol ag egwyddorion gloywi iaith. Y bwriad felly yw cyflwyno sgiliau cyfreithiol sylfaenol i’r myfyrwyr, megis ymchwil gyfreithiol, ysgrifennu nodiadau achos, drafftio deddfwriaethau ac ysgrifennu gohebiaeth gyfreithiol. Wrth wneud hynny, rhoddir cefnogaeth ac arweiniad am yr ystyriaethau iaith perthnasol yn unol ag anghenion yr unigolyn, gan roi pwyslais arbennig ar bwysigrwydd defnyddio’r cywair priodol mewn gwahanol gyd-destunau. Bydd hyn yn sicrhau bod myfyrwyr yn meithrin cyfrifoldeb am eu cywirdeb gramadegol, a chywirdeb eu Cymraeg gyfreithiol yn benodol, gan ddatblygu sgiliau gloywi iaith eu hunain. Yn fwy cyffredinol, bwriad y modiwl yw cynyddu hyder y myfyrwyr i drafod y gyfraith trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg ac i’w paratoi i weithio mewn lleoliadau dwyieithog.

Course content

Bydd y modiwl yn cynnwys elfen gref o ddatblygu sgiliau ymchwil gyfreithiol er mwyn cyflawni tasgau megis drafftio llythyrau cyfreithiol, llunio nodiadau achos, drafftio deddfwriaethau ac yn y blaen. Rhoddir pwyslais ar gywirdeb gramadegol y tasgau hyn, a rhoddir arweiniad ar ysgrifennu Cymraeg gyfreithiol raenus a chywir. Bydd pwyslais hefyd ar drafodaethau llafar cyfreithiol, a rhoddir arweiniad ar iaith lafar gywir sy’n briodol i’r cyd-destun. Bydd cyfle i ymarfer sgiliau a fydd yn cyflawnil i’r myfyrwyr wrth iddynt ddilyn eu cwrs gradd yn y Gyfraith (e.e. ysgrifennu nodiadau cydlynol, crynhoi, trosi o un iaith i’r llall). Rhan bwysig o’r modiwl fydd paratoi ar gyfer y cyflwyniad llafar lle bydd cyfle i’r myfyrwyr gyflwyno elfen benodol o’r gyfraith o flaen cynulleidfa o ddarlithwyr a chyd-fyfyrwyr. Bydd y modiwl hefyd yn galluogi’r myfyrwyr i ymarfer a datblygu eu sgiliau ymchwil cyfreithiol a’u sgiliau iaith trwy gyfrwng ymarferion ar safle Blackboard y modiwl.

  2. Cymryd cyfrifoldeb cynyddol am sicrhau cywirdeb gramadegol eu hiaith a gwybod sut i cyflawni gwahanol gymhorthion iaith megis geiriaduron, llyfrau gramadeg ac adnoddau cyfrifiadurol i wella eu sgiliau iaith yn gyffredinol

  3. Ysgrifennu nodiadau cydlynol a chynhwysfawr am destunau cyfreithiol yn Gymraeg, gan gynnwys penderfyniadau barnwrol.

  4. Crynhoi deunydd cyfreithiol yn y Gymraeg.

  5. Datblygu gwybodaeth am ddrafftio cyfreithiol a sgiliau yn y maes.

  6. Trosi deunydd cyfreithiol o'r Saesneg i'r Gymraeg.

  7. Bod yn ymwybodol o wahanol gyd-destunau iaith (ar lafar ac yn ysgrifenedig) a'r modd y dylid eu defnyddio yn ôl y sefyllfa, y diben a'r gynulleidfa.

  8. Trafod agweddau ar y gyfraith ar lafar gyda myfyrwyr eraill.

  9. Ateb cwestiynau llafar am y gyfraith mewn sefyllfa holi ac ateb.

Subject specific skills

  • Develop the ability to interpret legal rules and employ techniques of legal reasoning competently and efficiently in order to offer a range of solutions and conclusions to actual or hypothetical complex legal problems, all supported by relevant academic literature, jurisprudence and legislative research. Such solutions will be clearly communicated and presented
  • Develop the ability to analyse complex legal issues, set against the background of the political, social, economic or cultural contexts in which they may arise
  • Develop those skills which are necessary for scholarship and research in legal subjects, namely the ability to identify relevant primary and secondary legal sources and to retrieve accurate legal information using paper and electronic sources
