Byd Naturiol yng Nghref. y Gor 2023-24
VPC-3305
2023-24
School Of History, Law And Social Sciences
Module - Semester 2
20 credits
Module Organiser: Gareth Evans-Jones
Overview

Ym 1967, cyhoeddodd Lynn White Junior erthygl ddylanwadol yn cyhuddo Cristnogaeth o fod yn sylweddol gyfrifol am y problemau amgylcheddol sy'n dechrau cael eu dirnad yn y Gorllewin - 'gwraidd' yr 'argyfwng ecolegol'.

Bydd y modiwl yn ystyried ymatebion Cristnogaeth i'r awgrym hwn ac yn archwilio ei pherthynas hanesyddol â byd natur. Fe fydd yna hefyd archwiliad o grefyddau eraill y Gorllewin, yn Abrahamaidd ac yn baganaidd. Rhoddir ffocws hefyd ar amrywiaeth o ryngweithiadau eraill rhwng crefydd ac amgylcheddaeth sydd wedi digwydd yn y byd Gorllewinol, gan gynnwys y rhai sy'n gysylltiedig â rhagdybiaeth Gaia James Lovelock. Bydd meysydd penodol o bryder amgylcheddol, megis newid hinsawdd a thechnoleg niwclear yn cael eu hystyried o ran eu perthynas â thrafodaeth grefyddol a rhoddir sylw i ryngweithiad cymhleth gwleidyddiaeth, amgylcheddaeth a chrefydd o fewn y maes dadl hwn.

Assessment Strategy

Trothwy: D- i D+

Mae’r gwaith a gyflwynir yn ddigonol ac yn dangos lefel dderbyniol o sgil fel a ganlyn: - Yn gywir ar y cyfan ond yn cynnwys gwallau ac elfennau wedi'u hepgor. - Gwneir honiadau heb dystiolaeth neu resymeg ategol glir. - Mae gan y gwaith fframwaith ond mae diffyg eglurder ac felly mae'n dibynnu ar y darllenydd i wneud cysylltiadau a rhagdybiaethau. - Defnyddio ystod gymharol gyfyng o ddeunydd.

Da: C- i C+

Mae'r gwaith a gyflwynir yn gelfydd drwyddo draw ac o bryd i'w gilydd ceir arddull a dull rhagorol a dewis ardderchog o ddeunyddiau ategol. Mae'n dangos: - Fframwaith da a dadleuon wedi'u datblygu'n rhesymegol. - Mae'n defnyddio, yn rhannol o leiaf, ddeunydd a gafwyd ac a aseswyd o ganlyniad i astudiaeth annibynnol, neu mewn ffordd sy'n unigryw i'r myfyriwr. - Ar y cyfan mae'r honiadau'n seiliedig ar dystiolaeth ac ar resymu cadarn. - Cywirdeb a chyflwyniad mewn arddull academaidd briodol.

Da iawn: B- i B+

Mae’r gwaith a gyflwynir yn gelfydd drwyddo draw a gallwch weld arddull a dull a dewis o ddeunyddiau ategol sy’n rhagori. Mae'n dangos: - Fframwaith da iawn a dadleuon a ddatblygwyd yn rhesymegol. - Yn defnyddio deunydd a gafwyd ac a aseswyd o ganlyniad i astudiaeth annibynnol, neu mewn ffordd sy'n unigryw i'r myfyriwr. - Mae'r honiadau'n seiliedig ar dystiolaeth a rhesymu cadarn. - Cywirdeb a chyflwyniad mewn arddull academaidd briodol.

Ardderchog: A- i A*

Mae’r gwaith a gyflwynir o safon eithriadol ac yn rhagorol mewn un neu fwy o’r ffyrdd canlynol: - Mae'n cynnwys esboniadau gwreiddiol gyda syniadau'r myfyriwr ei hun yn amlwg. - Mae'n rhoi tystiolaeth glir o astudiaeth annibynnol helaeth a pherthnasol. - Cyflwynir dadleuon yn glir gan alluogi’r darllenydd i ystyried cam wrth gam er mwyn dod i gasgliadau.

  • asesu'n feirniadol werth moesegol y portreadau beiblaidd o fyd natur

  • ymwneud â chryfderau a gwendidau gwahanol fodelau canoloesol o'r berthynas rhwng pobl-natur
