Module WMC-4043:
Cerddoleg Gyfredol

Cerddoleg Gyfredol 2024-25
WMC-4043
2024-25
School of Arts, Culture And Language
Module - Semester 1
20 credits
Module Organiser: Stephen Rees
Overview

Disgrifiad: Mae Cerddoleg yn ychwanegiad eithaf hwyr i ddisgyblaethau academaidd, a chaiff Cerddoleg ei diffinio fel ‘astudiaeth cerddoriaeth’ fel y’i deëllir yn fras. Yn syml, er bod y disgrifiad hwn yn swnio’n syml, mae cerddoriaeth fel gwrthrych astudio wedi ennyn amrywiaeth o ddulliau methodolegol gwahanol, rhai’n gynhenid i gerddoleg (dadansoddi), ac eraill wedi’u benthyg o ddisgyblaethau eraill (philoleg, beirniadaeth lenyddol, estheteg, cymdeithaseg, anthropoleg, ac acwsteg). Mae’r cwrs yn bwriadu gwneud myfyrwyr yn gyfarwydd ag ystod o fethodolegau a dadleuon methodolegol sy’n cael effaith hanfodol ar yr ymchwil gyfredol a wneir yn y maes (e.e. hanesyddiaeth, dadansoddi, ‘cerddoleg newydd’, cenedl, strwythuriaeth ac ôl-strwythuriaeth, ac ati). Mae darlleniadau dethol o ysgrifau ysgolheigaidd yn cyflawni dau bwrpas: yn gyntaf, fe’u defnyddir i sefydlu’r cysyniadau a’r dulliau gweithredu allweddol sy’n nodweddiadol o’r dulliau gweithredu unigol, ac sydd felly’n paratoi’r ffordd ar gyfer dealltwriaeth o destunau sy’n defnyddio jargon. Yn ail, maent yn sail i asesiad beirniadol, sy’n cydnabod bod system methodolegau yn bodoli mewn cyd-destunau hanesyddol, ac yn ceisio gwerthuso eu manteision a’u cyfyngiadau. Bydd hyn yn archwilio disgwrs cerddoleg gyfredol, ac yn paratoi myfyrwyr i ddefnyddio’r methodolegau yn eu hymchwil eu hunain. Bydd yr arfer o drafodaeth feirniadol yn cael ei chyflwyno drwy sesiynau trafod ar yr arddulliau arloesol a dadleuol o weithredu, lle bydd myfyrwyr yn cymryd yr awenau. Yn ogystal, bydd myfyrwyr yn cael eu cyflwyno i’r tueddiadau diweddaraf mewn cerddoleg, perfformio, a chyfansoddi drwy gyfres seminarau ymchwil rheolaidd yr Ysgol Cerddoriaeth Drama a Pherfformio, sy’n darparu fforwm ar gyfer ymchwil arloesol gan ysgolheigion ac artistiaid o Fangor a’r tu hwnt.

Assessment Strategy

-threshold -Threshold (50-59) Gwaith sy'n arddangos gafael da ar wybodaeth ffeithiol, gyda gallu syml mewn meddwl cysyniadol, a rhywfaint o ymwybyddiaeth o faterion methodolegol (er yn gyfyngedig), ac yn dangos tystiolaeth ddigonol o ddull deallusol cyffredinol, gyda mynegiant derbyniol.

-good -Good (60-69) Gwaith sy'n arddangos gafael cadarn ar y pwnc, lefel dda o feddwl cysyniadol, ymwybyddiaeth o fethodolegol a materion eraill, gyda thystiolaeth o graffter deallusol a mynegiant da.

-excellent -Excellent (70+) Gwaith sy'n arddangos gafael trylwyr ar y pwnc, gyda thystiolaeth o astudiaeth estynedig, meddwl cysyniadol dwys, gwreiddioldeb dull a sgiliau cyflwyno rhagorol.
