Overall aims and purpose
Bydd y modiwl hwn yn cyflwyno myfyrwyr i bynciau allweddol o fewn seicoleg plentyndod a throseddu. Bydd myfyrwyr yn dysgu am wahanol ddamcaniaethau am yr hyn a all achosi plentyn i ddatblygu ymddygiad troseddol naill ai fel plentyn neu yn ddiweddarach mewn bywyd. Bydd myfyrwyr yn cael eu cyflwyno i bynciau allweddol o fewn troseddu sy'n gysylltiedig â phlant a phobl ifanc er enghraifft, ymddygiad rhywiol niweidiol mewn plant a phobl ifanc, seicoleg arteithio plant, cipio plant, ymddygiad rhywiol niweidiol tuag at blant a phobl ifanc, seicopathi, lladdwyr cyfresol, y system cyfiawnder troseddol, ac ymateb y cyhoedd i droseddau. Byddwn yn canolbwyntio ar achosion blaenorol a ddatryswyd a rhai sydd heb eu datrys lle mae plant ac oedolion ifanc wedi bod yn droseddwyr ac achosion eraill lle buont yn ddioddefwyr.
Course content
Bydd y modiwl hwn yn edrych ar wahanol achosion o droseddu fel llofruddiaeth, cipio plant, trais rhywiol ac ati a bydd myfyrwyr yn trafod yn feirniadol y ffactorau, y strategaethau atal, a'r strategaethau ymyrryd ar gyfer plant fel troseddwyr a dioddefwyr. Bydd y modiwl hefyd yn ymchwilio i blant sydd dan amheuaeth, cyfrifoldeb troseddol, cyfaddefiad ffug ac awgrymiadedd.

Subject specific skills
- reflect upon a range of psychological sociological health historical and philosophical perspectives and consider how these underpin different understandings of babies and young children and childhood
- apply multiple perspectives to early childhood issues recognising that early childhood studies involves a range of research methods theories evidence and applications
- integrate ideas and findings across the multiple perspectives in early childhood studies and recognise distinctive early childhood studies approaches to relevant issues
- evaluate competing positions in relation to the construction of babies and young children and childhood by different subjects societal agents and time place and culture
- constructively critique theories practice and research in the area of child development
