Module PCC-1007:
Cyflwyniad i Ymchwil

Module Facts

Run by School of Psychology

10.000 Credits or 5.000 ECTS Credits

Semester 1

Organiser: Dr Awel Vaughan-Evans

Overall aims and purpose

Oes yna berthynas rhwng ymddygiad treisgar a statws cymdeithasol?

Ydi canu mewn côr wir yn dylanwadu ar ein lles ni?

Ydi pobl yn fwy tebygol o gredu gwybodaeth sydd wedi ei rannu ar Facebook na gwybodaeth sydd ar y newyddion?

Mae’r tri yma’n enghreifftiau o gwestiynau ymchwil, ac mae’n bosib eu hateb gan ddefnyddio dulliau ymchwil a phrofion ystadegol. Pwrpas y modiwl yma yw cyflwyno’r dulliau ymchwil yma i chi fel eich bod yn deall sut i ddylunio ymchwil dibynadwy eich hunain. Tuag at ddiwedd y modiwl, byddwn yn trafod mathau o brofion ystadegol er mwyn darganfod os yw canlyniadau arbrofion gwahanol yn arwyddocaol.

Felly, prif nodau’r modiwl yma yw:

1) Cyflwyno dulliau ymchwil mewn ffordd ddealladwy a datblygu eich dealltwriaeth o elfennau sylfaenol ymchwil

2) Datblygu eich dealltwriaeth o ystadegau

3) Datblygu eich gallu i ddadansoddi data gan ddefnyddio SPSS

4) Datblygu eich gallu i drafod dulliau ymchwil ac ystadegau yn hyderus yn Gymraeg a Saesneg

Course content

Mi fydd y modiwl yn cyflwyno dulliau ymchwil gwahanol i fyfyrwyr, ac yn trafod y prif bethau y dylid eu hystyried wrth ddylunio ymchwil (e.e. moeseg, dibynadwyedd a dilysrwydd). Yn ogystal, mi fydd y modiwl yn cyflwyno ystadegau disgrifiadol a chasgliadol i fyfyrwyr, ac yn trafod y gwahaniaeth rhwng dulliau ansoddol a meintiol.

Bob wythnos, mi fydd myfyrwyr yn mynychu darlith (1 awr o hyd) a gweithdy (1 awr o hyd). Yn y ddarlith, byddech yn dysgu ffeithiau, theorïau, a rhesymeg dulliau ymchwil. Mi fydd y gweithdai wythnosol yn rhoi cyfle i chi drafod y wybodaeth yn fwy manwl, ac i ddatblygu eich sgiliau dadansoddi. Bydd rhai o'r gweithgareddau yn cynnwys ystyried materion moesegol, dyfeisio astudiaethau ymchwil, casglu a dadansoddi data gan ddefnyddio offer electronig, llaw gyfrifiadau, a dysgu sut i gyfathrebu canlyniadau'r ymchwil mewn adroddiadau ysgrifenedig. Dylai pob myfyriwr gwblhau 100 awr o waith ar gyfer y modiwl hwn ar draws y semester (gan gynnwys dosbarthiadau rheolaidd, ymchwil annibynnol, a chwblhau aseiniadau).
