Tiwtorialau Blwyddyn 1

Module Facts

Run by School of Natural Sciences

20.000 Credits or 10.000 ECTS Credits

Semester 1 & 2

Organiser: Dr Stella Farrar

Overall aims and purpose

Nod y modiwl hwn yw datblygu sgiliau trosglwyddadwy megis sgiliau cyfathrebu llafar ac ysgrifenedig, sgiliau trefnu a rheoli amser, sgiliau rhyngweithio personol a sgiliau cyfathrebu syniadau a dadleuon gwyddonol. Bydd y tiwtorialau’n eich galluogi i ddatblygu’r sgiliau allweddol sy’n ategu’r sgiliau academaidd a ddysgir yn y darlithoedd a’r sesiynau labordy ar eich cwrs gradd. Yn ogystal â hyn, mae tiwtorialau hefyd yn rhoi cyfle i chi ddod i adnabod eich tiwtor personol a’r myfyrwyr eraill ar eich cwrs.

Course content

Semester Un: Bydd myfyrwyr yn datblygu eu sgiliau cyfathrebu ysgrifenedig trwy ysgrifennu traethodau (1000-1500 o eiriau) ar bwnc sy’n berthnasol i’w cwrs gradd. Bydd cyfleoedd ar gael i dderbyn adborth ffurfiannol - cyffredinol a phenodol - cyn cyflwyno traethawd crynodol terfynol.

Semester Dau: Bydd myfyrwyr yn datblygu eu sgiliau cyfathrebu llafar drwy roi cyflwyniad byr i amryw o gynulleidfaoedd, gan orffen gyda 'mini-gynhadledd' ar gyfer myfyrwyr o fewn rhaglenni gradd penodol.

Semester Un & Dau: Bydd myfyrwyr yn mynychu darlithoedd 'Gwyddoniaeth Boblogaidd' a roddwyd gan aelodau o'r staff academaidd. Mae'r rhain yn darparu enghreifftiau a chyfleoedd ar gyfer adfyfyrio ar y sgiliau sydd eu hangen i gyfathrebu gwyddoniaeth cymhleth, yn ogystal â rhoi cyfle fyfyrwyr i ddechrau nodi a datblygu eu diddordebau mewn agweddau penodol o'u pwnc. Bydd hyn hefyd yn caniatáu datblygu sgiliau cymryd nodiadau a nodi pwyntiau allweddol mewn darlithoedd.

Assessment Criteria

threshold

D- i D+: Bydd gan fyfyriwr trothwy’r gallu sylfaenol i ateb cwestiynau trwy roi gwybodaeth berthnasol, ac i osod ei syniadau mewn rhyw fath o drefn a dangos ei fod yn deall rhywfaint ar y pwnc. Gall fod rhywfaint o gamddealltwriaeth amlwg mewn cyfathrebu ond bydd yn dangos dealltwriaeth sylfaenol o'r egwyddorion. Defnyddir cyfeiriadau ond yn brin neu efallai yn dibynnu ar ffynonellau llai priodol.

excellent

A- i A+: Bydd myfyriwr rhagorol yn dangos dealltwriaeth gadarnach o oblygiadau’r cwestiwn y tu hwnt i’r hyn sy’n amlwg. Bydd hefyd yn gallu dangos ei fod yn deall y datblygiadau diweddaraf yn y maes (gan gynnwys y pethau sy’n cyfyngu ar y datblygiadau) a gallu cadarn iawn i feddwl yn feirniadol. Bydd cyfathrebu yn rhugl a chymalog, gyda'r gallu i ennyn diddordeb y gynulleidfa. Bydd cyfeiriadau/ffynonellau yn briodol iawn, gwyddonol, wedi eu gwerthuso'n dda a'u hymchwilio'n eang.

good

B- i B+: Bydd myfyriwr da yn gallu trefnu a chyflwyno dadl gadarn gan ddangos dealltwriaeth gadarn o’r wybodaeth y gofynnwyd amdani a dealltwriaeth o’r pwnc. Bydd cyfathrebu yn gydlynol ac yn cyfateb i'r gynulleidfa darged. Bydd cyfeiriadau/ffynonellau yn briodol, gwyddonol ac wedi'u gwerthuso'n dda.

C- to C+

C - C+: Bydd myfyriwr sydd yn ennill graddau lefel C yn dangos dealltwriaeth resymol o'r wybodaeth y gofynnwyd amdani a rhywfaint o wybodaeth am y pwnc, er gyda rhai diffygion mewn manylder a chywirdeb syniadau. Gwneir ymgais resymol i gyfleu syniadau, gyda rhywfaint o dystiolaeth o ystyried y gynulleidfa darged. Bydd cyfeiriadau/ffynonellau yn briodol ond gallent fod yn gyfyngedig.

Learning outcomes

  1. Casglu gwybodaeth am bwnc penodol o wahanol ffynonellau, gan gynnwys llenyddiaeth wyddonol wreiddiol.

  2. Datblygu sgiliau dysgu gydol oes.

  3. Meithrin sgiliau datblygiad personol ym maes rheoli amser, blaenoriaethu gwaith, trefnu ac ymdopi â dyddiadau cau.

  4. Cyfathrebu gwybodaeth a syniadau gwyddonol mewn dull effeithiol a chryno ar lafar ac yn ysgrifenedig.

  5. Dangos ymwybyddiaeth o ddatblygiadau a materion cyfoes yn y Gwyddorau Biolegol.

Assessment Methods

Teaching and Learning Strategy

Hours
Tutorial

Cyflwynir y tiwtorialau mewn grwpiau bach, gyda tiwtoriaid unigol. Darperir cymorth gyda sgiliau ysgrifennu gwyddonol, cymorth bugeiliol a chyfleoedd am adborth ffurfiannol.

8
Lecture

Cyflwyniadau gwyddoniaeth boblogaidd. Nod y cyflwyniadau yw arddangos yr amrywiaeth eang a chyffrous o ymchwil a wneir yn yr ysgol a rhoi cyfle i chi ddod i adnabod y staff academaidd a’u diddordebau ymchwil. Bydd y sesiynau yma hefyd yn caniatáu datblygu sgiliau cymryd nodiadau ac i werthuso egwyddorion cyfathrebu gwyddoniaeth drwy'r defnydd o bapurau cofnod.

20

Yn dilyn pob seminar, bydd gan fyfyrwyr gyfle i siarad ag aelod penodol o staff i fyfyrio ar eu profiad o'r flwyddyn gyntaf ac i ystyried y darlithoedd y maent wedi mynychu. Mae presenoldeb i'r sesiynau yn ddewisol ond mae myfyrwyr yn eu gwerthfawrogi fel fforwm ar gyfer trafodaeth gyda'r staff a'u cyfoedion.

12
Private study

Anogir myfyrwyr i feithrin dealltwriaeth wyddonol eang o bob agwedd ar y gwyddorau biolegol trwy ddarllen testunau gwyddonol cyfoes, a thrwy fod yn ymwybodol o faterion a datblygiadau cyfredol ym maes gwyddoniaeth trwy raglenni newyddion, gwefannau a rhaglenni dogfen.

150

Gosodir tasgau ar-lein ar ymarferion adfyfyrio ac ysgrifennu gwyddonol ffurfiannol a gefnogir gan diwtoriaid. Caiff y rhain eu cynllunio i annog ymgysylltiad parhaus, amser ar y dasg ac i hyrwyddo ymarfer sgiliau sy'n cael eu dysgu yn y modiwl hwn ac yn y modiwl Sgiliau Ymarferol.

10
Seminar

Bydd Semester 2 yn gorffen gyda 'mini-gynhadledd' gan y myfyrwyr, gan alluogi myfyrwyr i arddangos eu diddordebau i eraill ar eu cwrs gradd. Bydd myfyrwyr yn cyflwyno papur cyfoes ar destun sy'n berthnasol i'w gradd.
