Overall aims and purpose

Cynlluniwyd y modiwl hwn i wella sgiliau ysgrifennu a chyflwyno myfyrwyr, gyda'r nod o wella eu cyflogadwyedd yn gyffredinol a'u gwybodaeth am yrfaoedd yn y dyfodol. Yn ogystal â datblygu gwybodaeth yn ymwneud â llunio papurau gwyddonol y gellir eu cyhoeddi, bydd myfyrwyr yn dysgu hefyd sut i hyrwyddo a rhoi cyhoeddusrwydd i'w gwaith i gynulleidfa ehangach, gymysg, gan ddefnyddio amrywiaeth o gyfryngau. Bydd myfyrwyr hefyd yn dod i ddeall technegau a sgiliau i wella eu siawns o gael swyddi a chyfleoedd menter.

Ac yn olaf, mae mynd i gynadleddau a seminarau gwyddonol yn rhan hanfodol o aros mewn cysylltiad â'r datblygiadau diweddaraf mewn ymchwil. Mae’r agwedd olaf y modiwl wedi'i chynllunio i roi i fyfyrwyr y sgiliau allweddol o ran sut i ddehongli, gwerthuso a chrynhoi gwyddoniaeth arloesol a gyflwynir trwy 'fformat seminar ymchwil'. Bydd cyswllt rhwng staff ymchwil a myfyrwyr yn galluogi myfyrwyr i ymwneud ag ymchwil wyddonol a fydd yn ehangu ar eu gwybodaeth o werslyfrau a gwella eu sgiliau ysgrifennu, ac yn rhoi cyfle i fyfyrwyr weld yr ystod o ymchwil ôl-raddedig gyffrous sydd ar gael ar gyfer astudiaethau pellach.

Dylai myfyrwyr dreulio amser yn ymchwilio ac adfyfyrio ar eu llwybr gyrfa eu hunain a thrafod hyn gyda'u cyfoedion a staff.

Course content

Bydd y modiwl hwn yn ymdrin â sgiliau ysgrifennu allweddol i ddibenion gwyddonol, yn cynnwys hyrwyddo a lledaenu pynciau cyfoes. Eglurir sgiliau hanfodol i wella cyflogadwyedd a rhagolygon gyrfa myfyrwyr; yn cynnwys llunio CV, ysgrifennu cynllun busnes a marchnata - ynghyd â sgiliau rhwydweithio ac ymarfer at gyfweliadau. Trefnir cyfres o seminarau ymchwil i ymdrin ag ystod eang o feysydd gwyddonol, gan alluogi myfyrwyr i ddod i gysylltiad â phynciau ac academyddion na fyddent yn dod ar eu traws fel arall efallai. Ceir nifer o asesiadau ffurfiannol drwy gydol y modiwl ac asesiad crynodol parhaus ar ffurf blog.

Dylai bod gan fyfyriwr rhagorol wybodaeth fanwl a chysyniadol am y ffeithiau hanfodol a'r cysyniadau allweddol sy'n ofynnol i gynllunio'n effeithiol ar gyfer cyflogaeth, datblygu menter fusnes ac ystyried y problemau moesegol sydd ynghlwm â bioleg. Dylai'r sesiwn sgiliau cyfweld, y cyflwyniad busnes llafar a'r cynllun busnes ysgrifenedig a'r adroddiad seminar i gyd ddangos gwybodaeth sy'n uwch na'r lefel werslyfrau ddisgwyliedig a chynnwys gwybodaeth o ffynonellau ar-lein, llenyddiaeth wyddonol ac o fodiwlau eraill.

  1. Gwerthuso sut mae angen dulliau ysgrifennu a chyflwyno gwahanol, yn dibynnu ar y gynulleidfa, y targed a'r cyfrwng a ddefnyddir, a datblygu dull effeithiol o ymdrin ag ysgrifennu adroddiadau, CV's, cynlluniau busnes ac ysgrifennu ar-lein.

  2. Dadansoddi a defnyddio'r dull gorau i fynegi darganfyddiadau a chysyniadau gwyddonol i gynulleidfa mor eang a pherthnasol â phosib.

  3. Cyfuno gwybodaeth o seminarau ar ymchwil gyfredol ym maes gwyddor bywyd er mwyn cael dealltwriaeth o waith arloesol - a chyfathrebu hynny i gynulleidfa gymysg.

Lecture

Bydd y cwrs yn dechrau gyda 'darlith groeso' yn esbonio fframwaith y modiwlau a'r disgwyliadau gan y myfyrwyr. Yna ceir cyfres o ddarlithoedd dros y ddau semester yn ymdrin ag agweddau ar gyflogadwyedd a sgiliau gwyddonol craidd.

Seminar

Mae 'Pynciau Cyfredol yn y Gwyddorau Biolegol' yn agwedd newydd ar y modiwl. Fe'i cyflwynir dros y ddau semester er mwyn dysgu myfyrwyr sut i dynnu gwybodaeth allweddol o gyflwyniadau gwyddonol, crynhoi'r wybodaeth honno mewn fformat cryno a defnyddio'r wybodaeth honno i lywio penderfyniadau ynghylch eu gyrfa yn y dyfodol. Ymhellach, daw'r rhan hon o'r modiwl hwn â myfyrwyr i gyswllt uniongyrchol ag ymchwil flaengar a fydd yn datblygu ar eu gwybodaeth o werslyfrau. Bydd y myfyrwyr yn mynd i fan leiaf bum sgwrs dros y flwyddyn academaidd o gyfres gyfredol o seminarau ymchwil. Ar ddiwedd pob sgwrs bydd gan fyfyrwyr y cyfle i drafod cynnwys a chefndir gwyddonol y sgwrs gyda'r siaradwr, cynullydd y modiwl a gwyddonwyr eraill sy'n bresennol. Anogir myfyrwyr hefyd i gwestiynu eu goruchwylwyr am y cyflwyniadau. Gofynnir i'r holl siaradwyr mewn seminarau roi cyflwyniad mwy cyffredinol i'w hymchwil er mwyn galluogi myfyrwyr Lefel 3 i ddilyn eu cyflwyniadau. Anogir siaradwyr hefyd i bwysleisio darganfyddiadau allweddol a pherthnasedd gwyddonol ehangach eu gwaith.
