Module CXC-2028:
Llenyddiaeth Gymraeg America

Llenyddiaeth Gymraeg America 2022-23
CXC-2028
2022-23
School Of Arts, Culture And Language
Module - Semester 2
20 credits
Module Organiser: Jerry Hunter
Overview

Mae'r modiwl hwn yn archwilio'r berthynas rhwng llenyddiaeth Cymru America a'u profiadau hanesyddol a chymdeithasol. Ceir cyflwyniad bras i ddiwylliant ymfudwyr Cymreig y cyfnod c.1600 - c. 2000, ond rhoddir sylw'n bennaf i gynnyrch llenyddol cymunedau Cymraeg yr Unol Daleithiau gan ganolbwyntio ar y cyfnod 1840-1900. Trafodir y modd y bu i awduron Cymraeg America harneisio holl gynhysgaeth ddiwylliannnol y Cymry a'i haddasu ar gyfer dibenion newydd mewn gwlad newydd. Astudir diwylliant Cymraeg Patagonia hefyd a chymharu llenyddiaeth y Wladfa â llên Cymry'r Unol Daleithiau. Bydd y cyfan yn gyfle i ystyried y berthynas rhwng llenyddiaeth a gwahanol fathau o hunaniaeth genedlaethol.
