Module Organiser: Aled Llion Jones
Overview

Edrychir ar ddeunydd o bum prif faes y bydd myfyrwyr yn medru dewis ysgrifennu traethawd yn ymwneud â nhw (mae'r meysydd hyn yn aml yn gorgyffwrdd, ac ni chânt eu dysgu yn llwyr ar wahân):

i) ‘Mytholeg(au)’: archwilio’r dystiolaeth a geir am dduwiau a chrefydd

ii) Llawysgrifau a llythrennedd: ystyried prif lawysgrifau’r traddodiadau Cymreig a Gwyddelig

iii) Eglwys a Seintiau: ‘sefydliad’ yr Eglwys Geltaidd a Christnogaeth Geltaidd

iv) Rhyddiaith: y 'Mabinogion' a’r Cylchoedd Gwyddeleg

v) Barddoniaeth: y Bardd a’r traddodiad barddol yng Nghymru ac Iwerddon; y traddodiadau mawl a dychan; barddoniaeth Gymraeg gyfoes a’r Eisteddfod.

Hefyd mae'r elfen ieithyddol.

Assessment Strategy

-threshold -Bydd myfyrwyr trothwyol (graddau C/50%) yn arddangos rhychwant o wybodaeth briodol – neu ddyfnder priodol – mewn o leiaf rannau o’r maes perthnasol, a byddant yn llwyddo’n rhannol o leiaf i greu dadl sy’n mynd i’r afael â’r pynciau a drafodir yn y traethawd. Byddant yn dangos ymwybyddiaeth o’r mathau o dystiolaeth graidd sydd ar gael, ac o’r ffordd y gellir defnyddio a dehongli’r dystiolaeth.

-good -Da Bydd myfyrwyr da (graddau B/60%) yn arddangos galluoedd sicr yn yr holl agweddau a nodwyd yn y paragraff uchod, ac yn dangos o leiaf ychydig o wreiddioldeb yn eu darlleniadau o’r testunau.

-excellent -Rhagorol Bydd myfyrwyr ardderchog (graddau A/70%) yn arddangos y galluoedd sicr hyn ar draws y meini prawf, yn ogystal â dyfnder arbennig yn eu gwybodaeth a/neu gywreinrwydd eu dadansoddi. Dangosant hefyd wreiddioldeb yn eu gwaith darllen a dehongli, a hynny’n gyson.

Learning Outcomes

  • Bydd y myfyrwyr yn deall yn fanwl y gwahanol ffynonellau ar gyfer, ac agweddau ar, y traddodiadau llenyddol ‘Celtaidd’, a’r sefydliadau cymdeithasol a’u cynhaliodd.

  • Byddant yn cynllunio, strwythuro a chwblhau traethawd academaidd fydd yn archwilio i agweddau penodol o’r maes.

  • Byddant yn deall prif nodweddion Cymraeg Canol ac yn medru darllen ystod o destunau yn yr iaith honno.

  • Byddant yn gallu cyflwyno dadleuon clir a dealladwy sy’n seiliedig ar dystiolaeth, am werth a phwrpas llythrennedd a diwylliannau’r gair ysgrifenedig yn y cymdeithasau Celtaidd canoloesol.

  • Byddant yn medru cymhwyso medrau ymchwil at y maes penodol hwn, gan ddatblygu dealltwriaeth o wahanol agweddau ar y ffyrdd y meddyliodd siaradwyr yr ieithoedd Celteg am eu hunaniaeth eu hun.
