Overview

Bydd tair rhan i’r cwrs:

Rhan I Yn y rhan gyntaf edrychir ar hanes cynnar y Gymraeg gan roi sylw penodol i’r materion a ganlyn: 1. Y Celtiaid a’r Ieithoedd Celtaidd; 2. Y Frythoneg a’r Gymraeg; 3. Ffynonellau cynharaf yr iaith.

Rhan II Yn yr ail ran archwilir cyd-destun diwylliannol, economaidd a gwleidyddol hanes yr iaith hyd at y 19g., gan roi sylw penodol i’r materion a ganlyn: 1. Y Gymraeg hyd 1536 2. Y Tuduriaid: achubwyr yr iaith? 3. Y Gymraeg a’r Chwyldro Diwydiannol.

Rhan III Yn y drydedd ran cynigir arolwg o’r berthynas rhwng cyweiriau llafar a llenyddol yr iaith, gan roi sylw penodol i’r materion a ganlyn: 1. Tafodieithoedd y Gymraeg; 2. memrwn, argraffwasg ac orgraff: datblygiad yr iaith lenyddol; 3. John Morris-Jones a ‘safoni’ iaith.

Assessment Strategy

-threshold -Trothwy C/50%: Dangos cynefindra â rhai o’r prif agweddau ar hanes y Gymraeg a gyflwynir yn y modiwl hwn. Dangos gallu i gloriannu ffynonellau cynradd ac eilaidd perthnasol i’r maes. Dangos gallu i ymateb i farn ac i fynegi barn bersonol. Dangos gallu i grynhoi syniadau a dadleuon pobl eraill.

-good -Da B/60%: Dangos cynefindra â nifer dda o'r o’r prif agweddau ar hanes y Gymraeg a gyflwynir yn y modiwl hwn. Dangos gallu i gloriannu ffynonellau cynradd ac eilaidd perthnasol i’r maes yn ddeallus ac yn gytbwys a'u defnyddio'n bwrpasol. Dangos gallu i ymateb i farn, i fynegi barn bersonol gytbwys, ac i gyflwyno a datblygu dadl, yn glir ac yn rhesymegol. Dangos gallu i grynhoi syniadau a dadleuon pobl eraill yn deg ac yn gytbwys.

Dangos gallu datblygedig i ymateb i farn, i fynegi barn bersonol aeddfed ac annibynnol, ac i gyflwyno a datblygu dadl estynedig, yn glir, yn rhesymegol ac yn gydlynus. Dangos gallu datblygedig i grynhoi syniadau a dadleuon pobl eraill yn deg ac yn gytbwys.

Learning Outcomes

  • arddangos dealltwriaeth, a hynny mewn cyd-destun hanesyddol, o’r berthynas rhwng y llafar a’r llenyddol yn achos y Gymraeg;

  • arddangos gwybodaeth o’r ffactorau cymdeithasol, diwylliannol ac economaidd a ddylanwadodd ar hynt y Gymraeg hyd at y 19g.

  • dadansoddi’n feirniadol gyd-destun diwylliannol, economaidd a gwleidyddol hanes y Gymraeg hyd at y 19g.;

  • lleoli’r Gymraeg oddi mewn i’r teulu ieithyddol Celtaidd;

  • trafod rhai o’r prif ffynonellau sy’n ymwneud â hanes cynnar y Gymraeg;
