Overall aims and purpose

Amcan y modiwl hwn yw cyflwyno i fyfyrwyr rai o'r datblygiadau pwysicaf yn hanes Cymru o 'Oes y Tywysogion' i'r cyfnod modern cynnar. Mae'n canolbwyntio'n bennaf ar ymdrech wleidyddol a chyflawniadau'r teuluoedd brenhinol brodorol, yn cynnwys ymdrechion i sefydlu tywysogaeth Cymru, cyn mynd ymlaen i edrych ar fudiad Owain Glyndŵr ac, yna, ar y newidiadau gwleidyddol, diwylliannol a chrefyddol a welwyd yn yr unfed ganrif ar bymtheg. Mae'r modiwl felly'n arweiniad i gyfnod allweddol yn hanes y Gymru gyn-ddiwydiannol, gan roi sylw'r un pryd i faterion canolog sy'n ymwneud ag astudio cymdeithasau canol oesol a modern cynnar yn gyffredinol.

Oes Owain Gwynedd a'r Arglwydd Rhys; Gerallt Gymro; Llywelyn ap Iorwerth (m. 1240) a'i feibion; Penarglwyddiaeth a chwymp Llywelyn ap Gruffudd, Tywysog Cymru (m. 1282); barddoniaeth a hanes yn yr Oesoedd Canol; dyheadau gwleidyddol Cymreig yn y bedwaredd ganrif ar ddeg; mudiad Glyndwr; Brutus, 1485 a'r traddodiad proffwydol; Cymru a'r Diwygiad Protestannaidd; Cymru a'r Dadeni; Cymru a gwleidyddiaeth yr unfed ganrif ar bymtheg - y Deddfau Uno.

  1. Dangos gwybodaeth sylfaenol o rai o'r prif ddigwyddiadau, cysyniadau a phroblemau yn hanes Cymru'r oesoedd canol a'r cyfnod modern cynnar, o oes y tywysogion i'r cyfnod modern cynnar, yn arbennig ymgais rheolwyr brodorol i sefydlu tywysogaeth Cymru a'r dylanwadau allanol a ddylanwadodd ar Gymru yn ystod y cyfnod modern cynnar.

  2. Dangos ymwybyddiaeth y gellir dehongli hanes mewn gwahanol ffyrdd.

  3. Dangos meistrolaeth dros sgiliau astudio sylfaenol, yn arbennig y gallu i ddilyn cwrs o waith darllen, gwneud nodiadau effeithiol a manteisio oddi wrth drafodaethau seminar.
