Overview
This module provides you with an opportunity to gain academic credit for your applied understanding of leadership in health. You must submit evidence of engaging in at least three CPD activities within your own professional role. You will be supported to produce your portfolio (incorporating a professional summary) and your reflective journal through lectures, seminars, online resources and meetings with the course tutor.
Topics may include: Leadership theory and application Reflective and critical thinking Innovation Introduction to behaviour change Resilience Reflecting on practice Evidencing learning
Assessment Strategy
Threshold (C) To achieve a ‘pass’ on the module’ the student will be required to demonstrate some knowledge of continuing professional development, and some awareness of development opportunities and future planning. Good (B) To achieve a ‘good pass’ the student will be required to demonstrate good knowledge of continuing professional development, and good awareness of development opportunities and future planning. Excellent (A) To achieve an excellent pass, the student will be required to demonstrate a high level of knowledge of continuing professional development, and excellent awareness of development opportunities and future planning.
Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate an evidence-informed and comprehensive understanding of behaviour and effective behaviour change approaches for physical activity, health, and wellbeing.
- Evidence reflective self-awareness of own leadership journey in relation to own professional standards and next steps for development.
- Identify and analyse areas for self and organisational improvement showing independent learning ability and reflective self-awareness.
- Show resilience and the ability to build resilience in others.

Reflective journal exploring what you have gained from engagement in CPD activities, in relation to your leadership journey. The journal should include what you have learnt with regards to behaviour change approaches; building resilience, and, in the form of an action plan, should identify potential areas for self and organisational improvement.
