Overall aims and purpose

Mae'r fodiwl yn canolbwyntio ar agweddau a syniadau prif damcaniaethwyr yn yr astudiaeth gyfoes o droseddu, rheolaeth gymdeithasol a dioddefaint. Mae'n cynnwys damcaniaethaethau o'r Bedwaredd Ganrif ar Bymtheg i'r presennol. Gosodir y syniadau yn eu cyd-destun deallusol a hanesyddol, ag asesir yn feirniadol gwaith meddylwyr allweddol. Prif bwrpas y fodiwl yw i ddangos pa mor berthnasol yw syniadau troseddeg i'r astudiaeth o faterion troseddu a chyfiawnder troseddol. Ymhlith y safbwyntiau a thestynau yw'r canlynol: damcaniaethau ddiwylliannol, niwtralieddio a thechnegau gwadu cyfrifoldeb, safbwyntiau labelu a throseddeg beirniadol.

Amcanion allweddol: 1. I ddarparu gwybodaeth a dealltwriaeth dda o agweddau damcaniaethwyr allweddol mewn troseddeg o'r Bedwaredd Ganrif ar Bymtheg i'r presennol. 2. I ddarparu fframwaith i werthuso syniadau troseddeg a dioddefoleg yr Ugeinfed Ganrif. 3. I archwilio'r berthynas rhwng dadansoddiad troseddu o safbwynt theoretig, dioddefoleg a rheolaeth troseddu. 4. I ddatblygu sgiliau gwerthfawrogiad a gwerthusiad parthed dadansoddiad theoretaidd ag ymchwil empeiraidd. 5. I hybu datblygu sgiliau a chyfathrebu llafar ag ysgrifenedig.

Course content

Mae SCY2001 yn fodiwl 20 credyd a ddysgir mewn un semester yn unig.

Mae'n canolbwyntio ar agweddau a syniadau prif damcaniaethau yn yr astudiaeth gyfoes o droseddu, dioddefoleg a rheolaeth gymdeithasol.

Prif bwrpas y fodiwl yw i ddangos pa mor berthnasol yw syniadau troseddeg i ystod eang o faterion trosedd a chyfiawnder troseddol. Ymhlith y safbwyntiau a thestynau a gynhwysir yw: damcanaieth Anomie Merton; damcaniaeth diwylliannol; niwtraleiddio a diffyg ymrwymiad; rhyngweithiad symbolaidd; labelu a stigma; cenhadaeth moesol; troseddeg feirniadol; cywilyddio; damcaniaeth dewis rhesmymegol ayb.

Awr o ddarlith yn wythnosol yn darparu cyflwyniadau ar theoriau amrywiol a safbwyntiau mewn troseddeg.

Bydd myfyrwyr yn dysgu drwy darlithoedd a gweithgaredd seminarau. Bwriad darlith yw darparu gorolwg o safbwynt theoretaidd gan ddarparu ysgogiad i wneud ymchwil annibynnol pellach a meddwl ar ran yr unigolyn. Disgwylir i fyfyrwyr baratoi'n drylwyr ar gyfer seminarau gan ddisgwyl i fyfyrwyr arwain y sesiynau. Bydd pob seminar wedi ei threfnu ar dasg neu themau arbennig. Argymhellir yn gryf i fyfyrwyr wneud defnydd o BB, ble y cantcyhoeddiadau am y modiwl, darlleniadau allweddol, awgrymiadau o waith ymchwil pellach a sgiliau astudio. Mae dysgu ag addysgu yn y fodiwl hwn yn rhagweithiol gryf, a bydd disgwyl i fyfyrwyr gymryd rhan weithgar yn eu profiadai dysgu hwy hunain.
