Overview

Mae’r modiwl hwn yn gwahodd myfyrwyr i ddod i adnabod byd sinema ffeithiol, gan archwilio ei hanes, ei thechnegau, a’r effaith ddofn a gaiff ar gymdeithas.

Bydd myfyrwyr yn dod i ddeallt y grefft y tu ôl i wneud ffilmiau dogfen. Byddant yn dysgu gwerthuso ffilmiau a rhaglenni dogfen yn feirniadol, gan drafod eu strwythurau naratif, eu harddull, ac ystyriaethau moesegol.

Mae’r modiwl yn ymdrin ag ystod eang o bynciau, gan gynnwys gwreiddiau'r ffilm ddogfen, gwneuthurwyr ffilmiau dogfen dylanwadol a’u gwaith, is-genres amrywiol o fewn y maes, a’r berthynas esblygol rhwng ffilm ddogfen a newid cymdeithasol. Bydd myfyrwyr yn archwilio sut mae ffilmiau dogfen yn arfau pwerus ar gyfer adrodd straeon, gan daflu goleuni ar faterion dybryd, anghyfiawnder cymdeithasol, a ffenomenau diwylliannol.

Erbyn diwedd y modiwl, bydd gan fyfyrwyr werthfawrogiad dwfn o bŵer ffilm ddogfen fel cyfrwng addysg, eiriolaeth, a mynegiant artistig. Byddant yn meddu ar yr offer dadansoddol a'r sgiliau technegol angenrheidiol i ymgysylltu â ffilmiau dogfen yn feirniadol.

Bydd y cwrs hwn yn edrych ar ddatblygiad ffilmiau dogfen gan geisio gosod datblygiadau pwysig mewn cyd-destun damcaniaethol. Caiff hanes y ffilm ddogfen ei drafod yng nghyd-destun y cwestiynnau syniadaethol a ddilynodd o esblygiad gwahanol fathau o ffilmiau dogfen. Bydd myfyrwyr ar y cwrs yn edrych ar amrediad o ffilmiau, o'r 1920au hyd heddiw, ond bydd mwyafrif y ffilmiau a fydd yn cael eu harchwilio yn rhai cyfoes. Bydd gofyn i'r myfyrwyr ddadansoddi'r ffilmiau, gan gyfeirio at theori dogfen wedi ei ysgrifennu gan amrywiaeth o awduron, gan gynnwys: John Grierson, Dziga Vertov, Paul Rotha, Bill Nichols, Stella Bruzzi, John Corner, a Paul Wells, ymhlith eraill.

-threshold -Trothwy (40%+)Mae'r gwaith a gyflwynwyd yn foddhaol ac yn dangos lefel dderbyniol o allu fel a ganlyn:- Cywir ar y cyfan ond yn cynnwys gwallau ac elfennau wedi eu hepgor.- Yn gwneud honiadau heb dystiolaeth na rhesymu cefnogol eglur.- Yn strwythuredig ond yn aneglur ac felly'n dibynnu ar y darllenydd i wneud cysylltiadau a rhagdybiaethau.- Yn defnyddio ystod gymharol gyfyng o ddeunydd.

-good -Da (50%+)Mae'r gwaith a gyflwynir yn fedrus trwyddo draw ac o bryd i'w gilydd gwelir arddull a dull rhagorol a dewis rhagorol o ddeunyddiau cefnogol. Mae'n dangos:- Strwythur da a dadleuon a ddatblygir yn rhesymegol.- Mae'n defnyddio'n rhannol, o leiaf, ddeunydd a gafwyd ac a aseswyd o ganlyniad i astudio annibynnol, neu mewn ffordd sy'n unigryw i'r myfyriwr.- Ar y cyfan mae'r honiadau'n seiliedig ar dystiolaeth ac ar resymu cadarn.- Manwl gywir ac wedi ei gyflwyno mewn arddull academaidd briodol.Da iawn (60%+) Mae'r gwaith a gyflwynir yn fedrus trwyddo draw a gwelir arddull a dull rhagorol a dewis rhagorol o ddeunyddiau cefnogol. Mae'n dangos:- Strwythur da iawn a dadleuon a ddatblygir yn rhesymegol.- Mae'n defnyddio deunydd a gafwyd ac a aseswyd o ganlyniad i astudio annibynnol, neu mewn ffordd sy'n unigryw i'r myfyriwr.- Mae'r honiadau'n seiliedig ar dystiolaeth ac ar resymu cadarn.- Manwl gywir ac wedi ei gyflwyno mewn arddull academaidd briodol.

-excellent -Rhagorol (70%+) Mae'r gwaith a gyflwynir o safon eithriadol ac yn rhagorol mewn un neu fwy o'r ffyrdd canlynol:- Mynegiant gwreiddiol a syniadau'r myfyriwr ei hun yn gwbl amlwg.- Yn rhoi tystiolaeth eglur o astudio annibynnol helaeth a pherthnasol.- Cyflwynir dadleuon yn eglur gan alluogi'r darllenydd i ystyried fesul cam er mwyn dod i gasgliadau.
