Overall aims and purpose

Amcan y modiwl hwn yw darparu myfyrwyr â throsolwg eang o gyfluniad hanesyddol a chrefyddol Cristnogaeth. Bydd y modiwl yn dechrau ag archwiliad o hanes datblygiad Cristnogaeth, gan gyfeirio at gyfansoddiad y Testament Newydd, dysgeidiaeth Iesu, a sefydlu’r Eglwys Fore. Wedi gwneud hynny, byddem yn ystyried datblygiad yr Eglwys Gristnogol, gan sylwi’n benodol ar ddatblygiad y gwahanol enwadau Cristnogol. Yn y cyswllt hwn, bydd y modiwl yn gwerthuso’r gwahanol syniadau diwinyddol, ideolegau, a chysyniadau sydd gan y gwahanol enwadau. Sylwn, er enghraifft ar y Tystion Jehofa a grwpiau ‘Cristnogol’ yr asgell chwith. Yn ogystal, ystyrir agweddau penodol ar ddiwinyddiaeth Gristnogol, gan gynnwys athrawiaeth y Drindod Sanctaidd a Christoleg. Byddem wedyn yn asesu’r modd yr ymarferir Cristnogaeth heddiw drwy archwilio themâu megis bedydd, arwyddocâd y cymun, ac ymarferoldeb y ffydd Gristnogol mewn cyd-destun cymdeithasol anghristnogol. Pwrpas y modiwl, felly, yw annog myfyrwyr i ennyn dealltwriaeth o wahanol bynciau cysylltiedig â Christnogaeth, gan drafod seiliau’r grefydd a’r sawl sy’n eu hystyried eu hunain yn ‘Gristnogion’.
