The University is aware that caring may have financial implications with students experiencing higher travel costs and or find
themselves less able to work part time to supplement their student finance awards.
To help ease some of these financial worries Bangor University offers unpaid student carers with an annual bursary of up to £1,000 from the University’s Hardship Fund.
- To be eligible for any of the bursaries offered by Bangor you must complete the student finance application form – this is the method used to assess eligibility for student loans, maintenance grants etc, and in the same way your eligibility for the bursaries offered will be assessed on the basis of this form.
- Bursary payments will be administered and distributed by the Student Loans Company on behalf of the
University – so you must complete the student finance application form1 to be able to receive a bursary
payment from Bangor University.
* Students from the EU should contact the Money Adviser for guidance on bursary assessment procedures,
