Amcanion cyffredinol
Mae'r modiwl hwn yn cyflwyno myfyrwyr i astudiaethau cerddolegol trwy arolwg o hanes cerddoriaeth rhwng 1550 a 1850, ynghyd â chyfres o weithdai ar sgiliau astudio uwch.
Mae'r modiwl yn gwneud arolwg o weithiau mewn amrywiaeth o genres 'clasurol', a rhai poblogaidd, yn ystod y cyfnod 1550–1850. Gosodir newidiadau a datblygiadau mewn arddull gerddorol yn eu cyd-destunau hanesyddol, diwylliannol, cymdeithasol, daearyddol ac esthetaidd. Yn ogystal, mae myfyrwyr yn edrych ar nifer o weithiau yn fanwl mewn seminarau, gan eu hastudio fel testunau cerddorol drwy ddadansoddiad, ac ymchwilio i amgylchiadau eu cyfansoddi.
